March 29, 2009

Hello everyone, and thank you for signing up for the Faith Miracle newsletter. I hope God speaks to you through this month's letter. We will be sending out these newsletters on the last Saturday of each month. I hope they bless you.

Straight from the Heart

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

After the resurection and accension, Jesus left behind a most wonderful gift. That gift is peace. Many people all around the world are fighting for this one thing. Peace of mind. Peace of heart. Peace in life. Jesus granted it to us.

We easily give in to fears and doubts because the world has us so saturated with it's unbelieve, but there is no reason to fear any longer. Read the word of God and let it's truth fill up your heart. Jesus is watching over us now. He has got our backs, and He is helpng us along our walk through life. And when life ends, He will be waiting there on the other side for us with open arms of love.

This Easter season, think on the peace that Christ offered us through the cross (our sins forgiven) and His resurrection (our lives restored). Let Him comfort your spirit.

Monthly Laugh

God Is Watching

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray, "Take only one. God is watching."

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. One child whispered to another, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

What Does It Mean to Be Holy?

In the Bible, Peter tells us that we are to be holy. He quotes Leviticus 11:44, saying “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16) The “I” refers to God Himself. Be holy because God is holy. When it is applied to us, “holy” means set apart to God’s service. Dedicated to His service. In Exodus 3:5, God told Moses to take off his sandals because the place where he was standing was holy ground. This was in a field surrounding a burning bush. That place was holy? The ground was not perfect or pure. It was holy only because God determined it to be. The ground was set apart for His purpose.

We are holy if we are set apart for His purpose.

In Romans 12:1, Paul urges us that, in view of God’s mercy, to offer ourselves as living sacrifices ‘holy’ and pleasing to God, as our spiritual act of worship. How do we do this? We must stop conforming to the pattern of this world (separate ourselves from the things that are not of GOD) but be transformed by the renewing of our mind – allow God’s Spirit to change the way we think.

In view of God’s mercy

We have never been holy, perfect or pure on our own and we cannot work hard enough to be deemed holy. We are sinful. God’s mercy was extended to us when Jesus Christ died on the cross as payment for our sins. He took our sins and we received His holiness. In view of that mercy we are holy – set apart for God’s purpose.
