It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
The word "addict" comes from a latin root meaning to be given over in devotion to a person in slavery. In today,s society, we use the word much the same way. As an addict, we are given over in slavery to whatever has became the master over our lives. In some cases, that is a lethal substance. In others, it may be an event or hobby. If it has taken control of your life, then you have become its slave. As a slave, you are an addict.
We are a support group committed to creating a safe place for men and women to share their experience, strength and hope with each other as a fellowship recovering from behaviors that have affected us in our lives.
Our purpose is to overcome our addictions and grow spiritually in our savior Jesus Christ. We are here to help one another by sharing our own experience, strength, and hope that it may lift one another up. We are not here to talk about others, to condemn, criticize, or judge them. Our desire is to improve the quality of our lives as we apply what we learn from listening and sharing with each other. Our hope is the belief that we can succeed today in situations where we failed previously as we place ourselves in the care of Jesus Christ.
Jesus can set us free from our bonds of slavery if we accept His truth, and walk in unity with Him. He set us free so that we could have true freedom and life as we walk our lives. That freedom includes freedom from addictions and unwanted behaviors. He gave us life, and life abundantly.
